About NLIS Investigations, William Dorsch
![]()
Company Profile
NLIS Investigations is devoted mostly to Homicide and Death investigations. As an experienced Chicago Police detective William Dorsch was responsible for Homicides, Death Investigations and Police Involved Shootings. His clients are either experienced Defense Attorneys or families of victims who are not satisfied with the progress of a police investigation.
In either case, my approach to my investigative task is the same. It begins with a review of the available police reports and a conference with the attorneys or family members. A return to the crime scene is necessary so that I can accurately understand the area where the crime occurred. This understanding allows me to formulate questions when canvassing the scene or when I interview witnesses. Often new witnesses can be found during the canvas. The identification of new witnesses who had never been interviewed by the police is a new revelation that can change a defense attorney's strategy for trial or new evidence that can be brought to the police in an unsolved homicide.
Also of value is my ability to accurately report all that I had learned to the client. At trial, I have often been called to testify as an expert witness. My investigations are based on a solid understanding of the legal system, the gathering and understanding of evidence, my ability to locate and interview witnesses, and my ability to work with police officers, attorneys and family members.
I also have an advantage in that I know what the police did right, what they did wrong, and what they did not do that should have been done.
